Minor Surgical Procedures

At Dr Carolyn Chinsinga & Associates, we are equipped to provide a range of minor surgical procedures designed to address specific health concerns with minimal discomfort and quick recovery time.

We are committed to advanced healthcare, which means that we can always provide the necessary interventions to safeguard your well-being.

What are minor surgical procedures?

These surgical procedures usually involve short, less invasive operations and pose minimal risks. We perform minor procedures under local anaesthesia, meaning you will remain conscious but won't feel any pain.

Types of minor surgical procedures

  • · Excisions (warts, keloids, lesions): We perform excisions on skin growths and lesions using a scalpel, laser, or other tool.
  • · Removal of foreign objects: It’s common to accidentally ingest or insert a foreign object (like a Lego block) into a part of your body. We’re here to help you remove the foreign object and restore your comfort.
  • · Wound care: This involves thorough cleaning, dressing, and monitoring of wounds to accelerate healing, prevent infection, and minimise scarring.
  • · Abscess drainage: Abscesses are bacterial infections that form a pocket of pus in the skin. We provide abscess drainage, which involves draining and cleaning the abscess to remove the infection.
  • · Skin biopsy: This is when a small sample of skin tissue is removed to be examined under a microscope. We do this to diagnose various skin conditions, including cancer.
  • · Ear syringing: This procedure involves flushing the ear with warm water or saline solution, restoring hearing and alleviating discomfort. This gets rid of excess earwax or foreign objects obstructing the ear canal.

We ensure that our patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure by using top-of-the-line equipment and following strict hygiene protocols. Our team ensures the procedure is performed accurately, safely, and quickly as possible, minimising potential complications.

Procedure aftercare and follow-up

After the procedure, we will provide clear instructions on wound care, medications, potential signs of complications, and when to seek immediate medical help. The healing process is as essential as the procedure, so we ensure excellent aftercare. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor your recovery and address any emerging concerns.

We strive to create an environment where patients feel supported and confident in their care. Moreover, we maintain a good communication channel with our clients, making sure that you are well informed and comfortable every step of the way.
